ABOUT

The team at Headquarters are very passionate about concussion management and helping you get back to your daily activities. We work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals when needed to ensure you are getting the targeted care required for your recovery. You do not need a referral to make an appointment at Headquarters.

ACUTE CONCUSSION

Relying on symptom recovery alone is a poor indicator of physiological recovery of a concussion. This means that your symptoms may go away well before your brain and nervous system have completely recovered. If you rely on symptom recovery alone, you may be putting yourself at an increased risk of further injury and complications.

CHRONIC CONCUSSION (persistent concussion symptoms)

A concussion can create a multitude of dysfunctions throughout your brain and body. Similar to other injuries, these dysfunctions generally need to be rehabilitated to prevent further complications, injuries and compensatory mechanisms. â€‹ If you are still experiencing symptoms after a head injury, or if you still do not feel quite right, there is probably still and area of your brain (or body) not doing what it should, or not communicating how it should. A thorough multi-system examination will help to identify the dysfunctional area that may be driving your prolonged symptoms, which will direct appropriate rehabilitation. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

An initial assessment is available for those who have had a diagnosed or suspected concussion injury, even if the injury was many years ago. If you are experiencing symptoms after a head injury, or even if you still don't feel quite right, an initial concussion assessment is for you.
